Our first gettogether

Yesterday we had our first meeting in a sunny place in Kungsbacka, it was lovely! We talked about "Bog child" and everone loved it. It is easy to read, you learn about history, the language is beautiful and Siobhan Dowds way of writing creates a feeling of melancholy. Our next challenge is a book of true crime and we decided to read  "På andra sidan förlåtelsen" (South of forgivness) av Thordis Elva och Tom Stranger. I have ordered it to the library so you can all pick one up next week.
Challenge number three is a classic of genre fiction and some of us wanted to read "to kill a mockingbird", but you can also read something else or read it again if you have read it already. Challenge numer four is a comic written and drawn by the same person and I have two suggestions: "Persepolis" by Marjene Satrapi and "Fun home" by Alison Bechdel. Challenge number five is a book set in or about one of the BRICS country and we decided to pick a country each, so choose a country and read. Challenge number six is a book about nature and we all wanted to read "Trädens hemliga liv" (the hidden lifes of trees) by Peter Wohlleben. Number seven is a western, help me! So now we have something to do this summer. Next meeting is wednesday the 30:th of maj and think about the following challenges until than.

The first challenge

The first challenge is to read a book that was published posthumously. And lucky for you and me Ruth, Siobhan Dowds "Bog child" counts. I have already read it in swedish, but I will read it again in english too, it is an excellent novel.
Here is what I wrote about it on our library blog.

Read harder challenge 2018

Ruth came up with the wonderful idea to do the Book Riot read harder challenge this year. That means we are going to read 24 books in the remaning 8 months of 2018. We can do this!
We started this blog to write about our experience and our reading. Why not join us! Read more about the challenge here: https://bookriot.com/2017/12/15/book-riots-2018-read-harder-challenge/
